A Simple Hello

They say love finds you when you least expect it, and I can confidently say that’s exactly how ours began. It all started with what seemed like a random WhatsApp message a simple “hello” from a man I didn’t yet know would become my husband. A mutual friend had introduced us, but honestly, I didn’t think much of it at first. A simple “hello” from Garth that would unknowingly spark the beginning of something truly special. That one simple reply turned into another, and before long, our chats became a part of my daily routine. At the time, I was living in the UK, and Gareth was in Nigeria. The distance should have made things harder, but somehow it didn’t. Our conversations flowed naturally, full of laughter, honesty, and a shared love for God. He had this calm presence that made me feel at peace, even through a screen. There was sincerity in his words and a quiet confidence that drew me in. By the time August came around, I knew this was something real. On August 28, 2023, we officially started dating, and from that moment, our journey took shape. We prayed together, supported each other, and built our connection on faith and friendship. Even without being in the same country, it felt as though God had aligned our hearts perfectly as we had so much in common! May 25, 2024 was the day we finally met each other. I had flown to Nigeria, and Gareth came to pick me up at the airport. I can still remember how my heart raced when I saw him for the first time. It wasn’t just excitement it was peace, confirmation, and the quiet voice in my head whispering, “This is him.” Meeting in person felt natural, like I was simply stepping into the next chapter of a story God had already written. Every moment since then has been filled with joy, understanding, and growth. Garth has been my safe place, my answered prayer, and a daily reminder that God’s timing is perfect. Looking back, I still smile at the thought that it all started with one random message, one I could have easily ignored. But that message was the beginning of everything. It was the start of us. Our love story is more than just two people finding each other; it’s a testimony of grace, faith, and divine timing. I thank God every day for the way He orchestrated our meeting, our love, and now, our forever. 💜

She Said Yes!

My darling Oshuwa, from our first conversation, I knew I wouldn’t want to do life with anyone else. November 20, 2024 a day I’ll never forget. I told Oshuwa we were going for a casual family dinner with my sister and her family. What she didn’t know was that my sister and I had been secretly planning this proposal for weeks! That day didn’t even start perfectly — we had a small disagreement before heading out, and she barely spoke to me on the way to the restaurant 😅. I was honestly nervous, hoping everything would still go according to plan. When we arrived at the restaurant, she noticed a beautiful setup going on and she said, “God, when?” completely unaware that she was the “when.” 🤣 My heart was pounding, knowing everything was unfolding exactly as planned. At one point, I excused myself to “use the restroom” truth is, I was so nervous I needed a moment to breathe and pray. My hands were literally shaking. I just kept thinking, This is it. This is the woman I’ve prayed for. Inside, I had arranged for a message to be displayed on a big screen something I had written straight from my heart. As she started reading, she didn’t even realize it was meant for her until our pictures started showing. Watching her reaction, that mix of shock, shyness, and joy was priceless. When she walked toward me, I was already on one knee, holding my phone with the words I wanted to say. I had planned to read them out loud, but as I looked at her, all the emotions hit me at once. I couldn’t even speak before she said yes! It was everything I hoped for, simple, sincere, and full of love. That moment marked the beginning of our forever, and I wouldn’t change a thing about it. ❤️
